Hair Care: To take proper care of your hair you first need to understand its type. Hairs can be classified into three types Oily hair, Dry hair, and normal or balanced hair. Oily hair is mostly accompanied by oily skin. Excessive oils are secreted from the scalp. So the hair and the scalp get oily. Dry hair on the other hand is due to inactive oil glands. It can be caused due to various reasons. Dry hair may be caused due to excessive exposure to the sun, chemical treatments, or because of undergoing chemical treatments. Normal hair is the ideal hair. It does not get excessively oily nor does it dries out. Proper hair care along with proper nourishment is required to maintain this perfect hair type.

Cleaning your hair is very much required. Applying shampoo is one of the best methods to take care of hair. Shampooing hair helps to remove dirt and impurities from the scalp. It is the primary method of hair care. Ideally speaking, you need to shampoo your hair every alternate day. However, that may not be possible for you, if you are working somewhere. Selecting a shampoo for your hair must depend on your hair type. For oily hair, mild shampoos must be chosen. You are not recommended to scrub or over-massage your scalp. That will loosen the hair follicles. You can also rinse your hair with Lukewarm water. If you want you can also mix lemon juice in the water to treat excessive oily hair. If you have dry hair try to use egg-based shampoo. They are not harsh and will help to moisturize the hair properly. Shampoos containing alcohol should be strictly avoided. It will harm the hair and will make it drier. Another important tip for maintaining good hair is to change the brand of shampoos once a month.

Method of Shampooing the hair:

You must at first untangle your hair by combing it with a wide-toothed comb. Then you can wet your hair thoroughly. Then pour shampoo on your palm and then apply the shampoo. It is not at all recommended to pour shampoo directly on the hair. Massage shampoo on your hair in a circular manner. After massaging for some time rinse it off thoroughly with water. You can then dry your hair by rubbing it with a towel.

Conditioning different types of hair :

  • For oily hair, you can use oil-free conditioners.
  • For dry hair type use moisturizer-based conditioner.
  • For damaged hair, you can opt for protein conditioners.

Conditioning is another important hair care activity. It is very much required to keep hair in a healthy and shiny state. Conditioning is especially useful for dry hair because it adds bounce and strength to the hair.
