The difference between the two types of carbohydrates is actually the difference in their chemical compositions. Simple carbohydrates have smaller chains than complex ones. There is also the conception of “good carbs” and “bad carbs”. They are important role players in low-carbohydrate foods. The deficiency of carbohydrates in the diet leads mainly to malnutrition. This malnutrition can result in dysfunctional disorders in the human body. Food and Agriculture Organization has taken many steps for the promotion of the idea of carbohydrates in the diet because everyone should be well aware of the proper amounts that are to be taken to the body on regular basis. Sugar is also a great resource of carbohydrates and that is why sweet foods always increase our energy. But it is never right to take excessive sweet foods because obesity is an inevitable result of excessive sugar input.
Carbohydrates in the diet is hence a topic that has to be cleared to all and sundry. With the increasing number of blood sugar patients throughout the world awareness about carbohydrates in the diet is the only solution to all the problems. Special care should also be taken for the children as well. The amount of carbohydrates needed by a full-grown body differs along with the body weights of different people.
