Silk Expo: India is the world’s top producer of silk, which is in high demand in both the domestic and international markets. Based on climatic and geographic factors, different types of silk are raised, but only four are particularly well-known: Tassar, Eri, Mulberry, and Muga. Silkworms fed on organically grown trees cultivate the wild kinds of silk known as Tassar and Muga. Tassar and Muga are produced in the Indian States of Bihar, Assam, and Chattisgarh.
